Former West Indies captain Carl Hooper termed the appointment of Barbadian Ottis Gibson for the new West Indies head coach position as ‘fantastic.’
Hooper sited Gibson’s experience with teams in West Indies, England and South Africa and said, “It is fantastic… it’s good to see he is now on board with West Indies cricket and I hope that he helps out…”
The former captain’s views echoed those of another WI captain, Richi Richardson, who also welcomed the appointment of Gibson.
Hooper, who was talking to WestIndiesCricketTV during the team’s preparation for the recently concluded 2nd ODI against Australia, also indicated that he thinks Chris Gayle is doing a fantastic job as the West Indies captain.
