The victorious Indian team of 1971 led by Ajit Wadekar, that created history by winning Test rubbers for the first time in the West Indies and England, will be felicitated next month by cricket legend Sir Garfield Sobers.
Sir Gary, the captain of the defeated West Indies team in that memorable series which started a new era in Indian cricket, will be the chief guest at the function to honour Wadekar and his team members at the Nehru Centre in Worli on March 4, a release said today.
