Cricket legend Brian Charles Lara was yesterday honoured by the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, and conferred with a Doctor of Laws for his outstanding contribution to cricket and country.

Lara holds the test cricket world record for most runs with 400 not out and the highest score in first class cricket with 501 not out.

The world record holder and former captain of the West Indies cricket team dedicated his achievement to his Fatima College principal Clive Pantin.
