Chris Gayle blasted a scorching 165 to lead Jamaica’s second innings charge over Windward Islands on the 2nd day of their Regional 4-Day match at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

Gayle’s mammoth innings came after a tame first innings score of only 2. An innings which he seemed determined to make up for from the get go. Gayle got off the mark with consecutive fours and never looked back, he brought up his 50 with a six out of the ground over mid-wicket.
The punishment was fairly shared among all the Windward Islands bowlers. The talismanic opener celebrated his 100 with a massive six landing on top of the George Headly stand. Gayle got to 100 in 88 balls hitting 6 furs and 9 sixes. He converted to 150 with 8 fours and 13 sixes and just 130 balls.
Gayle tweeted after the days play, “This Century today feels like Test Ton…1st against Windwards, which means I’ve complete Century’s against all teams Now! Sweet Azz.”
The rain of pain finally ended with a tame dismissal when Gayle popped up Shane Shillingford to Devon Smith late in the day’s play.
Jamaica ended the day on 262 for 7 with a second innings lead of 283 runs after bowling Windwards out for 159 earlier in the day.
