Batsman Kyle Corbin of Barbados has taken over the captaincy from the badly out-of-form Romel Currency for the Combined Campuses & Colleges’ (CCC) seventh and last round preliminary regional first-class match against championship leaders and winners for the past four years, Jamaica at the 3Ws Oval here, starting Friday, March 23.
There is one other change to the 13-man squad with Nkrumah Bonner, the Jamaican all-rounder missing after he was called up by the West Indies selectors for the two-match Tweny20 series against Australia.
Currency, a 29-year-old Vincentian, who has played 57 first-class matches, was woefully short of runs this season, managing just 75 from nine innings at an average 8.33. His highest score was 29 against the Windward Islands in the last series in Grenada.
Barbadian Nekoli Parris and Sunil Ambris, who is the brother of Currency, have replaced Currency and Bonner.
CCC squad: Kyle Corbin (captain), Yannick Ottley, Raymon Reifer, Floyd Reifer (player/coach), Chadwick Walton, Jason Holder, Kevin McClean, Ryan Austin, Jason Dawes, Shacaya Thomas, Akeem Dewar, Nekoli Parris, Sunil Ambris.
Management: Horton Dolphin (manager), Steven R. Leslie (assistant manager), Curtly Ambrose (Bowling consultant), Andrew Simpson (physio/trainer).
