Recently ousted West Indies captain Chris Gayle topped the batting statistics while Kemar Roach, also named man of the series, finished second overall in the wickets tally for the recently concluded 3 match test series.

Gayle, on the back or his first test career best 333, finished with 366 runs in four innings and an average of 91.5. Second on the batting list is the Sri Lankan captain, Kumar Sangakara, who totaled 228 at 76 average.

Darren Bravo on his series debut came in third wit 206 runs at 68.66 ave. WI vice-captain Brendan Nash (160 runs) & SL middle order batsman Thilan Samaraweera (151) finished 4th and 5th respectively.

Kemar Roach, the young WI fast bowler who was unofficially charged with leading the¬†inexperienced attack, picked up 10 wickets at 24.5 each and an economy rate of 3.53. Roach’s performance was good enough to earn him the man of he series award. He finished 1 wicket behind SL spinner Ajantha Mendis who picked up 11 at 27.63 to lead to wickets column.

Rangana Herath (7 wickets), Shane Shillingford (5) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (3 @ 14 runs each) top off the leading 5 wicket takers.
