A slight niggle for Black Caps all-rounder Corey Anderson has seen Jimmy Neesham join the squad in Hamilton as cover.

Ahead of the third test against the West Indies, Anderson says he has a problem with his shin.

“It’s been sort of hanging about for a little bit now but obviously we had an extra few days off because of the early finish in the second test.

“I’m still waiting for results to come back, but I’m pretty confident I’ll be available.”

Anderson is loathed to give Neesham a sniff.

“It’s getting a little bit cut throat now with guys coming up and pushing their cases.

“I want to sort of still cement my place in the side and do all I can to stay here, and stay here for a long time.”
