CHAIRMAN OF the National Selection Committee of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB), Dudnath Ramkessoon thinks the absence of Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard will benefit other cricketers trying to establish themselves in the national team…
Ramkessoon admitted that the departure of the trio presented a good opportunity for players to work on and elevate their batting potential.
“We have a number of players who can fill the gaps of these exiting batsmen from the Four-Day Tournament. Our reserves are filled with a lot of talent and we’re confident that they will perform to their best abilities,” he stated.
The TTCB first vice-president continued, “This is a wonderful opportunity for these reserve players to go out there and do what they were selected to do. The likes of Marlon Barclay and Justin Guillen are just some of the experienced options we have. These players will get a chance to showcase their talent and better their batting skills. This is their chance to step up. We’ll be having a meeting that decides who would be chosen to fill the gaps…”
