The opening four-day Test between West Indies ‘A’ and Bangladesh ‘A’ ended in a draw today at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Bangladesh ‘A’, set 233 for victory, reached 135 for five before the game was called off.

Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell and Nelson Pascal ended with two wickets apiece.

Jahurul Islam top scored for Bangladesh ‘A’ with 41.

Earlier, West Indies ‘A’, who trailed Bangladesh ‘A’ by 64 runs, were dismissed for 296 runs in their second innings at lunch. They had resumed this morning on 198 for six.

Jamaican Nkrummah, who was 70 overnight, reeled off a century. He scored 127. Carlos Brathwaite, the other overnight batsman, was dismissed for 28 after resuming on nine.

Final scores in the match are West Indies ‘A’ 358 and 296,Bangladesh ‘A’ 422 and 135 for five.

The second four-day Test starts on Saturday at the Beausejour Cricket Ground in St Lucia.

    Narine, at the moment, seems a combination of Mendis, Ashwin, Saqlain etc. He seems a thinking bowler and he needs to get as many opportunities as possible to see if he can go to the next level.

    I hope he is not mistreated like Deonarine, Mohammed and Jaggernauth some of the best spinners we have seen to have either had very limited or no opportunities.

    However Narine has to await his chance and seize it when it comes.

  2. Well done Bonner and Russell. Hope Dwayne Bravo is fit for the next game. Also hope Narine gets to play next match as well … though it seems it was our pacers who troubled Bang A.
