Coach of the national cricket team Kelvin Williams says that Keiron Pollard’s performance against Guyana in the Airtel Champions League, was revenge, after the Guyanese knocked T&T out of the Regional T20 cricket series. Guyana qualified for the Champions league after they won the regional T20 cricket series. On their way to taking the crown, they defeated T&T by four runs in the semi-finals at the Queen’s Park Oval. Yesterday, Pollard playing for the Mumbai Indians, smacked a 30-ball 72 with nine sixes and a four. His effort and that of Dwayne Bravo, two for 18 off three overs, enabled their team to defeat Guyana by 31 runs.

Williams, speaking during national trials at Couva said: “Polly was just being Polly and he took revenge against Guyana after they knocked us out of the championships in Trinidad. “He looked really pumped up and wanted to take revenge on them and that he did. Bravo also played well and the guys really wanted to defeat Guyana…”
