man everytime i come across news about Pakistan I feel kinda bad about bashing our players and management...
But then again that is like comparing Ramdin to Fletcher
At least our players, even though they might not be the greatest, they try to be as honest as possible with the game...
Our worst case (Samwells) will be like gold over in PAK.
@amrit b
Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan have been banned for a year and the
And how they said that Bans have to be 2 years minimum when Marlon's case was being looked at?
I gotta say though this is a very strong stand by the PCB and they should be commended... This siht has been going on too long with PAK cricket!
im confused about why yousuf got such an extreme punishment......the bad thing about samuels is that the board really didnt stick up for him, so we will never know the full story, cause even richie richarson said is punishment was too extreme
Yeah i am sure the details will come out about yusuf and khan...
Well with the Samwells incident there was some evidence there to indicate something was going side ways and I am somewhat glad that a red flag was thrown...
What confuses me though is the length of these bans... as opposed to the 2 years given to Samwells
well look at it this way, butts forgot that they had a tour in pak so it never happened, what do u expect
butts forgot that they had a tour in pak so it never happened
I seem to forget this incident, when was this?
The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued indefinite bans to former captains Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan.Its inquiry into events during the tour of Australia found the pair had been involved in "infighting which resulted in bringing down the whole team".
the PCB was unrepentant, saying: "This will go a long way to arrest the continuing decline of Pakistan cricket and improve the state of cricket in Pakistan."
Wasn't it less than 5 years ago when Pakistan was in the top 3 for tests?! I remember also Mohammed Yousuf breaking the record for most runs scored in a calendar year. I think he took it (from Viv) while playing the Windies.
@Misologist
The pak team is very talented. I would even say they possess more talent than the WI has right now...
The punishment seem a bit harsh for Yosuf and Younis...
if it is just for 'infighting'
Pakistan's new head coach Waqar Younis [ Images ] on Wednesday said that the cricket board must have valid reasons to hand indefinite ban on senior players Mohammad Yousuf [ Images ] and Younus Khan but they should be made public.Waqar, who was last week appointed as the coach of the national team, said the decisions of the board had come as a big shock to him.
"They were tough decisions but I think the board had a valid reason for taking them. These are big decisions that are initially hard to digest for anyone," he said.
The former Test captain, who was the bowling and fieldling coach on the recent tour of Australia [ Images ] and has replaced Intikhab Alam at the helm, said that the board should give reasons for taking the disciplinary action.
So now they are not banned for life?
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt has done a volte-face on the life ban imposed on former captain Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf, saying no such action has been taken.
Pakistan's cricket authorities on Wednesday morning banned Younis and Yousuf and took stern action against five other national cricketers on charges ranging from misconduct to ball tampering.
"Some media channels have interpreted the first recommendation of the inquiry committee regarding Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan as being a life ban on these two players from playing for Pakistan," said the PCB statement."PCB wishes to clarify that the recommendation of the committee is not a life ban on these cricketers. There is no specified term in the recommendation for these two players. As and when the PCB deems appropriate, these players will be considered for selection for the national team."
